Coordinated Care believes that you are in charge of your health. To fit your needs, our health plan covers healthcare services to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You are also covered for over the counter and prescription birth control at no cost to you.

Healthy Relationships

When it comes to sexual healthcare, you’re covered for:

  • Over the counter birth control without a prescription:
    • Condoms
    • Spermicide
    • Sponges
    • Plan B
    • Opill
  • Birth control with a prescription:
    • Oral contraceptive pills - you can get a 12-month supply at one time.
    • Long-acting reversible birth control, including:
      • Vaginal ring
      • Shots/Injections
      • Intrauterine Device (IUD)
      • Hormone implant
  • STI testing and treatment
  • HIV prevention and treatment
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Abortion - If you need more resources related to abortion services, visit the Apple Health abortion services webpage  or the Washington Department of Health resource page.

Members may use in-network pharmacies and providers for the above services. Members may also self-refer to out of network pharmacies and providers for the following services:

  • Family planning supplies and services
  • STI screening and treatment services
  • HIV screening

Your Rights

  • In Washington, people have the right to make choices about their reproductive healthcare.
  • It is your right to have your reproductive health information kept private. Coordinated Care will not disclose your reproductive health information, such as birth control use or pregnancy status, with anyone (including caregivers, parents, relatives, and caseworkers) without your direct consent.

STI Testing and Treatment

STIs are infections or conditions that you can get from any kind of sexual activity. You may also hear them called sexually transmitted diseases or STDs. Minors age 14+ may get tests and/or treatment for STIs without the consent of a parent or guardian. Read more on the Washington State Legislature website.

Birth Control

Minors may obtain or refuse birth control services at any age without the consent of a parent or guardian. Read more on the Washington State Legislature website.

Abortion Services

Abortion is legal and protected in Washington state for people of all ages. You may obtain or refuse an abortion and abortion related services at any age without the consent of a parent, guardian, or the father of the child. Read more on the Washington State Legislature website.
